The most standard way to implement a Favicon in a website is to upload a small 16×16 pixel image (named favicon.ico) to the root directory of the website.
When a user loads a page from a website in one of his web browsers, then the browser looks for the favicon.ico file in it, and if it finds it saved in a supported format, then it automatically Displays that icon next to the URL or on the page title.
NOTE: The standard size of Favicon is 16×16 pixels. Whereas most browsers also recognize some other sizes which are saved in 32×32, 48×48, and 64×64 pixel images size.
