What is a motherboard? What is the motherboard used in the computer? What are the motherboard parts? What is the function of the motherboard? what are the ports of a motherboard? Friends, today I am going to tell you about the motherboard present on the computer in this article. You must read this article to get many more answers.
Hello friends and welcome to my Digital Tech Akshay blog. You get information about computers, Android applications, important websites, and digital platforms in this blog of mine. Today, in this article, you will know what the motherboard is? So friends, let's start today's topic.
Today computers are used everywhere. The computer is a very important part of our daily affairs. You must know that all the parts present in the computer depend on each other.
If there is no part of any computer, then the system of the entire computer gets disturbed. Be it CPU, motherboard, and battery. Along with this, the mouse and keyboard parts contribute significantly to running the computer.
What Is A Motherboard?:-
A motherboard computer and laptop are present. It is a circuit board. Every part of the computer is connected to the motherboard. CPU, RAM, DVD Writer, Graphic Card, Hard-disk, Processor, Mouse, Keyboard, all of these computer parts are connected to the motherboard.
Motherboard Of A Computer |
Mother-board is also called the PCB-printed circuit board. The motherboard is also known as Logical Board, System Board, Printed Wired Board (PWB), and Mainboard (Mobo).
The motherboard is the most important part of a computer device. By the way, there are many small things on the motherboard. The motherboard is like a plastic sheet in which different ports are made to connect the equipment. The connection of each port is soldered on the motherboard sheet.
What Is The Type Of Motherboard?:-
1) Integrated Motherboard:-
The motherboard in which different ports are made to connect different components of the computer. These motherboards are called Integrated Motherboard.
Most of the time these same motherboards are used in PCs, Laptops. Through the integrated motherboard, you can easily upgrade any part of your computer.
2) Non-Integrated Motherboard:-
Motherboards that do not have the ports available to connect the necessary equipment are called Non-Integrated Motherboard.
In these motherboards, CPU, RAM is soldered directly on the motherboard. And all these cannot be upgraded later. In smartphones, similar motherboards are used in tables.
Motherboard Parts:-
1) CPU Socket: -
The CPU socket is the part on which the processor is placed inside the computer inside the motherboard.
In every computer, the processor is installed according to the capacity of the computer. As you may have heard the name P1, P2, Dual-core, Quad-core, Octa-core, Core i5, etc.
2) RAM Slot: -
The RAM slot contains the RAM of the computer. This is a small part of the computer. But RAM is a very important part of a computer. Whenever we go to buy a computer, we buy a computer with good RAM. So that it can work at the right speed.
Winning will be a computer with more RAM, the more smooth it will run without hanging. Because a computer with more RAM can run many applications simultaneously.
Whereas a computer or laptop with less RAM hangs when opening more applications. Because he does not know how to handle it.

3) ID Connector: -
The full form of ID is Integrated Drive Electronics. It is used to connect some hard-drives and optical-drives to the motherboard. But now ID is a bit old. Hence, it is rarely seen.
Now data cable is used instead. Which makes it smaller and makes it work faster. Data cable is also now available in different ways in the market.
4) Bios chip and CMOS battery: -
Complementary metal-oxide semi-conductor of CMOS. The battery is a powered semiconductor chip that stores the information.
These can range from the system time date to the system hardware settings of the computer. When your computer starts, the bios uses the store information in it.
The standard lifetime of a CMOS battery is up to 10 years. But it depends on the use and environment of the computer. If the CMOS battery fails, the system settings date and time will not be set. And if your computer is off for long, then the CMOS battery can also be discharged.
5) North Bridge and South Bridge: -
The motherboard of a computer is divided into two parts. North Bridge and South Bridge. The North Bridge memory manages the PCL slot. And SouthBridge manages the Processor Network Card.
6) Rear Connector: -
These are the ports on the edge of the computer. With which you connect things like your mouse keyboard and data cable.
7) Graphics Card Slot: -
This is the slot on the bottom right of the mother-board. Through which we can see videos and images on the computer. The graphic card itself is called the video card. If your computer does not have graphic cards, then we will not be able to watch the video on our computer.
Nowadays, the best graphic cards can be installed in computers. And even two-two video cards are also installed. So that we can also play high-quality games.
What Is The Ports Of The Motherboard?:-
Computer motherboards act as Base with which all the necessary computer equipment is connected.
Each device is connected to a Dedicated Place. This place or place is called Port.
Motherboard |
Motherboards have different types of ports. In which different devices of the computer can be connected. Full details of motherboard ports are given below.
1) Serial Port:-
Serial ports are used to connect additional modems and older mice. These Ports come in two models 9 Pin and 25 Pin.
2) Parallel Port:-
Scanners & Printers are connected in these ports. It consists of Ports 25 Pin. They are also called Printer Port.
3) PS / 2 Port:-
These ports are round in shape. They add the mouse and keyboard. Nowadays these ports are used very rarely.
4) USB Ports:-
You will be well acquainted with this port. Nevertheless, it is our duty to tell you.
The full name of the USB is Universal Serial Bus. All types of USB devices such as a mouse, keyboard, printer, hard disk, etc. can be connected by USB ports. Its ability to transfer data is much faster and more.
5) VGA Port:-
A computer monitor is used to connecting. Its construction is similar to that of Serial Port.
6) Power connector:-
A Power Connector is used to connect the motherboard to Power. Power does not go directly to the motherboard. She first goes to the SMPS and then reaches the motherboard.
7) Modem Port:-
Modem Port is used to connect the computer to the Internet cable. Its design is somewhat similar to a USB port.
8) External ports:-
These ports are used to connect one computer to another computer. The network cable is added to them.
9) Game Port:-
Game ports are used to connect Game Consoles and joystics. But nowadays, USB ports have started being used in their place.
10) DVI Port:-
The full name of DVI is Digital Video Interface. This port is used to connect Flat Panel Monitors i.e. LCD, LED to a computer.
11) Sockets:-
Sockets are used to connect Speakers and Microphones to computers. They are round and small.
What Are The Functions Of The Motherboard:-
1. The computer motherboard provides space to connect accessories. Therefore it is also called the backbone of the computer.
2. It provides power supply to connected devices and also manages them.
3. Conducts communication of one device with another.
4. The BIOS of the computer preserves the settings and information so that the computer can run smoothly.
