What is a computer? How does a computer work? What is the input and output device of a computer? How many types of computers? What are hardware and software? What are the essential parts of a computer? Friends, you will get answers to many such computer-related questions in this article.
The computer is an important part of digital technology. We get all the digital services through the computer. And using the computer itself, we can easily take advantage of all these digital services and together we can do our work sitting at home. That is why friends today I am going to give you information about computers. So let's start today's topic.
Welcome friends to my Digital Tech Akshay blog. In this blog, you get to know about digital things and their parameters. Today, everyone knows about the computer basically. But people who are new in the computer world. Today's article for all those people is going to be very helpful.
The computer we are using today is the result of years of hard work of many scientists. Today, what are you people called computers in this article? Which are the major parts of the computer? What is the full form of computer and how does the computer work? I am going to tell you about all these points. So, friends, let's start today's topic.
What Is A Computer?
A computer is a machine that performs small tasks according to certain instructions given by a person or another device. An electronic device that is designed to work with information, commands. The word computer is derived from the Latin word. This means calculating or a programmable machine.
Computer |
It has three main functions. The first is to take the data which is also called input, the second task is to process that data and finally, the task is to show the processed data which is called output.
The father of the modern computer goes to Charles Babbage. Because he was the first to design a mechanical computer, also known as an analytical engine. In this, data is inserted with the help of a punch card.
We can call a computer an advanced electronic controlled device. Which takes the data from the user at the input, then processes the data through the program and publishes the final result as output. The computer processes both numerical non-numerical calculations.
How Does A Computer Work?:-
- Input: - Input is the first step in which information is inserted into the computer using the input device.
- Process: - The data inputted during the input process is processed by CPU, Mother-Board according to the instruction. This procedure is completely internal.
- Output: - The data that has already been processed during the output is shown in the result. And if we want to save this result, we can also keep it in memory to use the future.
Computer Parts: -
There are mainly two types of computer parts.
1) External Parts Of A Computer: -
These are the parts that you get to see outside the computer. They are very hard and rugged and are used by the user to feed data to the computer. Monitor, mouse, keyboard, printer, and speaker.
1) Keyboard: -
Keyboards are mainly used for typing in computers. Without this, you cannot run the computer well.
2) Mouse: -
The mouse is called a pointing device. With this help, we can easily move the cursor from one place to another. It has been given the mouse name due to the appearance of a mouse in it.
3) UPS: -
A UPS is a device that provides electric power to a computer in times of need. Meaning that if the electricity goes away then your computer does not shut down immediately, rather it takes some time to shut down, for which UPS is responsible. Even without this, a computer can run when electricity is present.
4) Monitor: -
The monitor looks like a TV. Its main function is to make everything visible. There are many types such as LED LCD.
5) CPU:-
The central processing unit is an important part of the computer. All the processing of the computer is done by the CPU itself. All internal and external devices are connected to the CPU.
6) Printer: -
2) Internal Parts Of A Computer: -
Internal parts reside within the computer. They are slightly less sensitive, which is why they are kept inside the cabinet. Together all the processing work of the computer is done by them. It consists of six motherboards and drives.
Internal parts reside within the computer. They are slightly less sensitive, which is why they are kept inside the cabinet. Together all the processing work of the computer is done by them. It consists of six motherboards and drives.
1) Motherboard: -
The main circuit board of any computer is called a mother-board. It looks like a plate but many things are mounted on it. Such as CPU, memory, connectors, hard drives and optical drives, expansion cards to control video and audio, along with connections to all ports of the computer. If seen, the motherboard is directly or indirectly connected with all the parts of the computer.
2) CPU OR Processor: -
The CPU is called the central processing unit. This computer case is found inside the motherboard. It is also called the brain or the main part of a computer. It monitors the activities happening within a computer. The higher the speed of a processor, the faster it will be able to process.
3) Random Access Memory (RAM): -
RAM is called random access memory. It is the short term memory of the system. Whenever the computer does some calculations, this temporality saves that result in RAM.
If the computer is shut down, then this data is also deleted. If we are writing a document, then to save it from being destroyed, we should save our data in between. By saving, the data is saved in the hard drive, and data is saved for a long time.
The more RAM memory, the better it will be for us. ram is measured in megabytes and gigabytes.
4) Hard Drive:-
A hard drive is a component where software documents and different file formats can be saved.
5) Power Supply Unit: -
The power supply unit's job is to take power from the main power supply and supply it to other components as per the requirement.
6) Expansion Card: -
All computers have expansion slots, in which we can add an expansion card to the future. In today's era, many slots are already built on the motherboard. Some expansion card names that we can use to update old computers. Video card, sound card, network card, Bluetooth card, and graphics card, etc.
7) Read-Only Memory (ROM):-
ROM is a memory like RAM. It is only part of the primary memory of a computer. It has a fixed program, meaning it is a completely permanent memory. We cannot change this program easily. When you buy a computer, the BIOS program is already there.
What Is The Type Of Computer?
Whenever we ever hear the use of the word computer, then just a picture of a personal computer comes into our mind. Let me tell you that there are many types of computers. They come in various shapes and sizes. We use them according to the need.
1) Desktop: -
Many people use desktop computers at home, at school, or for their personal work. They are designed in such a way that we can keep them on our desk. They have many parts such as to monitor, keyboard, mouse, and computer case which we keep on the desk and use them.
2) Laptop: -
You must have known about battery-powered laptops. They are very portable so that they can be taken anywhere.
3) Tablet: -
Now let's talk about the tablet which we also call handheld based computers. Because it can be easily caught in the hands. It does not have a keyboard and mouse, just a touch-sensitive screen that is used for typing and navigation.
Features of Computer: -
1) Speed:-
A computer can process millions of instructions in just one second. Its data processing speed is measured in microseconds, nanoseconds, and picoseconds. Typically the speed of a unit of the processor is tens of millions of instructions per second, ie MIPS (Millions of Instructions Per Second). This machine has been built to work at a fast pace.
2) Accuracy: -
The computer works on the principle of GIGO (Garbage In Garbage Out). The results produced by it remain impeccable. If an error occurs as a result, then it is based on human intervention and the instructions entered. The accuracy of its results is much higher than the human results.
3) Diligence:-
Computers are a fatigue-free and hardworking machine. It can perform its work smoothly with equal purity without stopping, tired, and boredom. It fulfills the first and last instructions with equal concentration, focus, hard work, and purity.
4) Versatility:-
Computers are a multi-purpose machine. Apart from doing this calculation, they are capable of doing many useful tasks. Through this, we can do all the necessary work like typing, documents, reports, graphics, videos, email, etc.
5) Automatic:-
It is also an automatic machine. It can complete many tasks without human intervention. Automation is its great quality.
6) Communication:-
A computer machine can also interact with other electronic devices. Through this network, you can easily exchange your data with each other.
7) Storage Capacity:-
The computer has a very large memory. Results produced in computer memory, instructions received, data, information, and all other types of data can be stored in various forms. Due to storage capacity, the computer avoids duplication of work.
8) Reliability:-
It is a reliable and reliable machine. It has a long life. Its accessories can be easily turned and maintained.
Conclusion: -
Friends, now you know fully what is a computer? What are the parts of a computer? However, if you have any computer-related questions in your mind, then please tell me by commenting.
Computers today play an important role in the functioning of our deli. Like the computer, updates of advanced operating systems are coming on mobile. That is why we must come to operate the computer.
